This document will step thru the Installation of the Zebra ZDesigner TLP 2824 Plus (EPL) Driver
Procedures
Download Zebra ZDesigner TLP 2824 (EPL) Driver
- Download drivers from - https://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/printers/desktop/tlp-2824-plus.html
- Click on Drivers
- Click on Download
- Click Accept and Begin Download Now
Install Zebra ZDesigner TLP 2824 (EPL) Driver
- Connect the Zebra printer via USB cable to the computer
- Install the driver by double-clicking the downloaded file zd51167228-certified.exe
- Click Yes button when prompted on to allow change to this computer.
- Click Next on the Welcome Screen
- Click Next to extract the files to a c:\ZD5-1-16-7228 folder
- Click Next
- Select I have read the information above and Click Next
- Click Finish
- Welcome Wizard will come up, click Next
- On the Installation Options screen select Install Printer
- On the Select Printer screen find the Zdesigner LP 2824 Pro (EPL) driver – select it and press the Next button
- On the Printer Options screen select USB001 if the printer is connected via USB cable.
- Click Next on the Additional Installation Options, click Finish
Calibrate Zebra ZDesigner TLP 2824 (EPL) Driver
- After Installation is done right click on the ZDesigner TLP 2824 Plus (EPL) driver and select printer properties
- Click Preferences button
- Select the Advanced Setup tab
- Click Calibrate button, after calibration is done press OK button and OK button again.
- Make sure to Power Off and Power back On the Zebra Printer
Setup of Zebra ZDesigner TLP 2824 Plus (EPL) on the network
- First, connect the printer to the computer via USB Cabel
- Next, connect the printer to the network via Network Cabel
- On the printer press the Feed button until it flashes once and let the button go. This will print the configuration page of the printer where you will find the IP address assigned to the printer.
- Download and install ZebraSetup Utilities for Windowshttps://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/printers/desktop/lp-2824-plus.html#downloadlistitem_9aa
- Using Zebra Setup Utilities click Configure Printer Conectivity with the IP address that is outside of DHCP range.
Note: If you not sure Contact you IT Enginer to find out what stati IP address can be used
- Click Next
- Select Internal Print Server, click Next
- Select Static and type in the static IP address you like for the printer and press Next.

Under Final stream click Next
- Make sure the Zebra Printer driver is set up and connected via USB cable. Select Printer and click Finish
- The light on the printer will turn Red for about 5 seconds and turn Green again. Power off and power back on the printer
Reset Printer to Factory Defaults
- Open Zebra Setup Utilities
- Make Zebra printer is plugged in to USB and Powered ON
- Make sure you see the Zdesigner TLP 2824 Plus (EPL) USB001 in the window
- Click Open Printer Tools
- Select Action tab
- Select Load factory defaults
- Click on Send
- Zebra Printer light will flash Red, some paper will be ejected and green light will come up again
- Select Calibrate media and press Send
- Close the Zebra Setup Utilities
- Power the Printer Off and Power it back ON
Resetting the Zebra Printer using the Feed Button - do this if all else failed

- Manual Media Calibration (7 Green blinks) - the printer will auto-sense the gaps
- Standard Media Calibration (2 Green blinks) - Use this Calibration when using pre-printed media

Adjusting the margin “Unprintable Area”
- Right click on the ZDesigner TLP 2824 Plus driver and select Properties
- Under General tab select Preferences…
- If the barcode is being cut off, enter 0.07 under Unprintable Area – Left. Keep increasing this value to get a desirable printout.
- NOTE: When printing the first document the Feed button might be flashing. Press the button once and that will force the job to come out and all consecutive prints will come out normally.
