Delete a Customer Contact

Overview

This article shows the process for deleting a contact from a customer.

 

Process

Start by ensuring that your User has sufficient security permissions. 

  • Go to Edit > Software Settings
  • Select Users, then double click on whichever User will bedeleting the Customer Contact
  • Go to the Security tab and expand the Customer section
  • Expand the Customer Maintenance section, then review the Contacts option and ensure Delete is checked off (Note: This security is only available in Decor Fusion version 1.3.1.12 or higher.)
    • If Delete is not enabled, then click the checkbox to enable it and press OK to Save.

 

Now you can navigate to the Customer Contact in question and delete it.

 

  • Open the Customer Maintenance screen and locate the Customer using the search fields
  • Select the Customer, then press Properties, then go to the Contacts tab
  • Using the arrow keys, select the Customer Contact you would like to delete. In the following screenshot, John Doe is the currently selected Contact

 

  • Press the DELETE key on your keyboard, and a dialogue window will appear to confirm that you would like to remove the customer contact. If this is the contact you want to remove, press Yes. 

 

 

  • The Customer Contact will now be gone from the list as seen in the below screenshot. Note that you need to press OK for your change to Save. If you press Cancel in the bottom right, then your changes will be discarded, and the Customer Contact will not be removed.
