Overview 

This article explains how Force Quantity Entry works.

Procedure

This setting is found under Edit > Software Settings > Company and Stores> Company Settings > Point of Sale tab.

For example, an order will be entered at the point of sale for item 06920. With Force Quantity Entry unchecked, typing 06920 as an item will default the quantity to 1 and move you to the next line:

With Force Quantity Entry enabled, when item 06920 is entered, the user is moved to the Quantity column to enter a quantity count.

Here is what the POS order looks like in this scenario if the quantity entered was 3:

Note: Disabling this setting does not mean the user can enter a quantity of 0. This will always result in a Quantity cannot be 0 error.
